Join a specialist contract project delivering the network and cloud infrastructure behind an advanced computing platform in a London data centre innovation lab. The engagement covers Layer 2/3 architecture, GCP networking, hybrid interconnect, and production commissioning, with hands-on ownership from design through to handover.

The role offers the opportunity to work on a unique project combining enterprise networking and advanced computing infrastructure, with a defined Statement of Work and clear project scope. It is remote-first, with limited onsite attendance in London when technically required.

Responsibilities:

  • Design Layer 2 and Layer 3 architecture, including routing and route-exchange design using BGP where appropriate
  • Implement MikroTik routing configurations in production environments
  • Design and implement Google Cloud Platform (GCP) networking, including VPC architecture and firewalling
  • Integrate and validate GCP networking against a hybrid data centre interconnect fabric
  • Build a secure, auditable GCP environment for platform management and workload traffic
  • Deploy and validate test rig infrastructure
  • Support production deployment and commissioning
  • Produce full technical documentation, handover materials, and final reports


Skills/Must Have:

  • Strong enterprise and data centre networking background
  • Deep knowledge of Layer 2 segmentation, Layer 3 routing, BGP, and firewalling
  • Google Cloud Platform networking experience, including VPC architecture, firewalling, and IAM-aware access models
  • MikroTik RouterOS experience or strong transferable production router configuration expertise
  • Experience with hybrid connectivity platforms such as Equinix Fabric, Megaport, or similar
  • Security-conscious approach to network design, with a focus on auditability and access separation
  • Ability to work independently against a Statement of Work (SoW)
  • Strong technical documentation skills
  • Ability to attend onsite in London when technically required
  • Valid photo ID for site access
