Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Network Operations Centre
• Monitor network and infrastructure environments using NOC monitoring tools and dashboards
• Manage Linux, Windows Server and Windows 10/11 environments
• Administer VMware ESXi virtualised infrastructure
• Investigate, triage and resolve incidents across routing & switching, firewalls and WLAN technologies
• Support and troubleshoot Cisco networking environments
• Configure and maintain DNS, routing, firewalls, Keepalived and HAProxy
• Manage web services including Apache, NGINX and Squid
• Oversee Veeam backup, replication and disaster recovery
• Administer Microsoft Intune endpoint management
• Support HP server infrastructure and Apache Guacamole remote access
• Perform root cause analysis and produce incident reports
• Escalate complex incidents to 2nd and 3rd Line teams where required
• Ensure SLA compliance through effective incident management and customer communication
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, runbooks and operational procedures
• Drive continuous improvement across monitoring, automation and operational processes
• Participate in an on-call support rota
• Ensure infrastructure security, resilience and operational best practice

Skills/Must Have:

• Experience within Operations, Infrastructure, Systems Engineering or Network Operations
• Previous experience leading or mentoring a technical operations or NOC team
• Expert knowledge of Linux, Windows Server and Windows 10/11
• Advanced VMware ESXi administration
• Strong networking knowledge including routing, switching, TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls and WLAN
• Hands-on experience supporting Cisco networking environments
• Experience with HAProxy, Keepalived and high availability solutions
• Experience with Veeam backup and disaster recovery
• Microsoft Intune administration
• Experience with Apache, NGINX and Squid
• Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring and alerting tools
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and root cause analysis skills
• Scripting and automation experience
• Excellent communication, documentation and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, incident-driven environment

Salary:

• £65,000 - £70,000
