Operations Manager (m/f/d) - Hosting

The Operations Manager will join a leading data centre platform to establish and implement the operational framework for a growing multi-site portfolio. The successful candidate will build the operating model from the ground up, including governance, processes, systems, and team structures, while acting as the key link between strategic leadership and day-to-day operations as the business continues to scale.

Responsibilities: 

• Design, establish, and implement the operational setup for a multi-site data centre portfolio.
• Act as key interface between strategic leadership and site operations, translating operational vision into scalable structures, processes, and teams.
• Design and build a scalable operational organisation across multiple locations.
• Define roles, responsibilities, and governance structures.
• Identify, assess, and recruit talent for technical capability and cultural fit.
• Prepare the transition into site-based operational leadership structures.
• Ensure operational requirements are embedded in design, construction, and commissioning phases.
• Review and influence design concepts regarding operability and maintainability.
• Develop and implement structured handover and transition-to-operations processes.
• Define and implement operational procedures, standards, and best practices.
• Establish maintenance, incident, and change management processes.
• Oversee implementation of CAFM, BMS/EPMS, and operational systems.
• Drive standardisation and digitalisation across all sites.
• Act as operational interface between leadership, project teams, and site operations.
• Support implementation of compliance, safety, and operational risk frameworks.
• Define KPI and performance frameworks for future site operations.

Skills/Must Have:

• Technical degree (engineering, M.Eng.) or recognised German technical qualification (staatlich geprüfter Techniker, Meister with relevant industry experience).
• Strong experience setting up, transforming, or scaling operational organisations.
• Deep understanding of electrical and mechanical infrastructure systems.
• Experience across the full project lifecycle, design, construction, commissioning, and operations.
• Strong ability to translate strategic direction into practical operational structures.
• Experience recruiting and building operational teams.
• Confident moderator with the ability to structure discussions and drive outcomes.
• Business fluent English required; German is a strong plus.

Salary:

• €130,000 per annum 
• Dependent on experience
