This role involves working with experienced engineering and project delivery teams to design, deploy, and deliver optical networking solutions while collaborating with customers and stakeholders on complex network projects.

Responsibilities:

• Produce high-quality engineering documentation including Low Level Designs (LLDs), network design documents, migration plans and acceptance test plans.
• Translate high-level solution designs into detailed deployment and implementation documentation.
• Work closely with customers, project managers and engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support the deployment, commissioning and acceptance testing of optical transport network solutions.
• Participate in network upgrades, migrations and expansion projects across carrier and service provider environments.
• Provide technical guidance and support to field engineers, implementation partners and deployment teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues encountered during project delivery.
• Ensure project deliverables are completed on time and in accordance with customer requirements.
• Support customer handover activities and operational readiness.
• Contribute to engineering best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• Experience working with DWDM and Optical Transport Network technologies.
• Exposure to Ciena or similar optical networking platforms.
• Experience producing technical and engineering design documentation.
• Experience supporting network deployment, integration, commissioning or migration activities.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Ability to work directly with customers and technical stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working within telecommunications, carrier or service provider environments.

Desirable Skills:

• Previous experience with Ciena optical networking solutions.
• Exposure to long-haul, metro or submarine network environments.
• Knowledge of OTN and Data Centre Interconnect technologies.
• Understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts including OSPF, BGP and VLANs.
• Experience supporting acceptance testing and customer handover activities.
