The organization is currently on the lookout for a Physical Security & Access Control Technician to join its growing managed services team in San Antonio. The ideal candidate will work with access control hardware, IP cameras, NVRs, and video surveillance systems, along with platforms such as Verkada, 3xLOGIC, Avigilon, or Genetec. The role involves diagnosing connectivity, power, and networking issues affecting security systems, performing preventative maintenance and break/fix support, and travelling across San Antonio and surrounding areas to serve customers on-site.

Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot access control and physical security systems.
- Install and support IP cameras, CCTV/video surveillance systems, NVRs, and related equipment.
- Configure and troubleshoot access control systems including card readers, door controllers, locks, request-to-exit devices, door contacts, and related hardware.
- Perform field service, preventative maintenance, system upgrades, and break/fix support for customer environments.
- Configure and support cloud-based physical security platforms such as Verkada and 3xLOGIC.
- Troubleshoot connectivity, power, cabling, networking, and device communication issues affecting security systems.
- Assist with the deployment of new security and access control solutions at customer locations.
- Work with customers to understand technical issues and provide professional, timely solutions.
- Document installations, configurations, service calls, and system changes accurately.
- Coordinate with internal MSP engineering, networking, and support teams when issues require escalation.
- Perform system testing and commissioning to ensure installations are functioning correctly.
- Travel to customer sites throughout San Antonio and surrounding areas.
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism while working in customer-facing environments.
Skills/Must Have:
- 2+ years of experience working with physical security, access control, CCTV, video surveillance, or low-voltage systems.
- Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting security technology.
- Understanding of IP networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, PoE, and basic network troubleshooting.
- Experience working with access control hardware such as card readers, door controllers, electric strikes, magnetic locks, door contacts, and REX devices.
- Experience with IP cameras, NVRs, VMS platforms, and video surveillance systems.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, follow installation documentation, and troubleshoot field equipment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating with an MSP technical team.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites.
- Comfortable working on ladders, using hand/power tools, and performing physical installation work.
