Responsibilities:

• Collate and track Linux CVEs and security advisories from Canonical and other upstream sources
• Build and release base OS images using tools such as Packer and Landscape
• Package, curate, and maintain Linux patches sourced from Canonical repositories
• Build and maintain internal Linux package distributions and repositories
• Track, package, and maintain Windows OS and software updates
• Execute regression testing on patched systems to ensure stability and compatibility
• Validate security fixes and ensure compliance with patching policies
• Automate build, packaging, and testing workflows where possible
• Maintain documentation for patch sets, releases, and testing procedures
• Utilize Canonical MAAS to provision, deploy, and manage bare-metal infrastructure for testing and release environments

Skills/Must Have:

• Experience maintaining custom Linux distributions or internal package repositories at scale
• Familiarity with kernel patching, driver updates, or low-level system debugging
• Experience with automated testing frameworks for OS validation (e.g., pytest)
• Knowledge of vulnerability management workflows and tools (e.g., CVE triage, vulnerability scanners)
• Experience integrating patching workflows into CI/CD systems (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
• Experience working in regulated or security-sensitive environments (CIS benchmarks, STIG, FedRAMP, etc.)
• Understanding of package signing, repository security, and supply chain integrity (e.g., GPG, SBOMs)
