Responsibilities:

  • Prepare project estimates by reviewing proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documentation.
  • Identify labour, material, and time requirements to calculate project costs.
  • Resolve pricing options and develop appropriate project pricing strategies.
  • Gather information from local authorities and private entities relating to permits, hearings, and project requirements.
  • Assist with maintaining addendum logs and client documentation.
  • Complete quantity take-offs and material summaries.
  • Source trade partners, obtain bid estimates, and prepare vendor proposal comparisons and estimate summary sheets.
  • Support data entry into estimating software.
  • Build project estimates and prepare Request for Proposal (RFP) documentation.
  • Coordinate project schedules, including General Contractor activities and other key milestones.
  • Participate in plan reviews, estimate reviews, project meetings, and site investigations.
  • Source new bidders and collect documentation for future projects.
  • Capture historical cost data and maintain estimate archives.
  • Support order entry, drafting, production, and layout activities.
  • Liaise with sales representatives to resolve missing information and recommend improvements to cost, delivery, or products.
  • Interpret customer requirements and prepare or revise quotations.
  • Provide technical product support to designers and customers regarding quotations.
  • Report directly to the department supervisor.


Skills/Must Have:

  • Strong mathematical and computer skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to break down construction operations into logical sequences
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Strong work ethic, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Good attention to detail with ability to recognize discrepancies
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Administration preferred (HS diploma/GED required)
  • 1-2 years of estimating experience preferred


Salary: 

  • $130,000 - $160,000
