The organisation is looking for an experienced Power & Electrical Engineer to support a national engineering programme on a 12-month contract. This role is responsible for electrical inspection, testing, remedial works and small installations across a portfolio of technical sites, ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with current regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs).
  • Complete remedial electrical works identified during inspections.
  • Deliver small electrical installation and upgrade projects.
  • Perform planned and reactive electrical maintenance.
  • Conduct site safety and compliance audits.
  • Supervise specialist electrical contractors when required.
  • Maintain accurate certification and site documentation.
  • Carry out PAT testing where required.
  • Produce regular reports on completed electrical works.
  • Manage materials and maintenance consumables.
  • Plan and organise workloads efficiently.
  • Travel throughout the UK, including occasional overnight stays.


Required Skills & Experience

  • City & Guilds (or equivalent) qualified Electrician.
  • City & Guilds Test & Inspection qualification (2391 or equivalent).
  • Previous experience carrying out EICRs and remedial works.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong knowledge of current electrical regulations.
  • Good IT and reporting skills.
  • Eligible to obtain or hold security clearance.


Desirable

  • PAT Testing qualification.
  • IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
  • Experience within critical infrastructure or technical environments.
  • Knowledge of UPS systems, standby generators and fire alarm systems.
  • Experience supervising contractors and working independently.
