The organization is currently on the lookout for a Power Infrastructure Project Manager to lead delivery of the electrical infrastructure needed to energise large-scale, renewable-powered data centre projects. The ideal candidate will take ownership of major power infrastructure packages, working across grid connections, HV/MV substations, transformers, and transmission and distribution infrastructure, with significant influence over project strategy, contractors, utilities, and engineering, procurement, and construction.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of power infrastructure packages required to energise large-scale data center projects.
  • Manage grid connection works, HV/MV substations, transformers, switchgear, transmission and distribution infrastructure and associated civil works.
  • Develop project delivery strategies covering scope, procurement, contracting, construction sequencing, energisation and key milestones.
  • Manage relationships with utilities, grid stakeholders, EPC contractors, engineering consultants, equipment manufacturers and specialist suppliers.
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning and energisation activities.
  • Manage project scope, cost, schedule, risk, change control and contractor performance.
  • Monitor critical-path activities and long-lead equipment, implementing mitigation and recovery plans where required.
  • Support tendering, contractor selection, commercial negotiations, variations and claims.
  • Coordinate permitting and regulatory requirements associated with power infrastructure.
  • Ensure strong HSE and quality performance, particularly across HV construction and energisation activities.
  • Lead energisation readiness, including protection testing, cable testing, SAT, commissioning, utility approvals and final energisation.
  • Coordinate interfaces between external power infrastructure and the wider data center electrical systems.
  • Manage project completion, documentation, handover and operational readiness.


Skills/Must Have:

  • Strong technical understanding of HV/MV power infrastructure, substations, transformers, switchgear, protection and control systems and transmission/distribution networks.
  • Strong understanding of grid connection processes and utility interfaces.
  • Proven ability to manage EPC contractors, engineering consultants, utilities and equipment manufacturers.
  • Strong project management skills across scope, cost, schedule, risk, procurement, contracts and change.
  • Experience managing major electrical equipment packages from specification and procurement through FAT, installation, SAT and energisation.
  • Ability to read and challenge electrical single-line diagrams, substation layouts, protection and control schematics and technical documentation.
  • Good understanding of electrical protection, SCADA/telecommunications, grounding, switching, LOTO and energisation.
  • Strong stakeholder management and decision-making skills.
  • Fluent Spanish and English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Spanish and European electrical regulations, grid requirements and permitting processes.
  • 8–10+ years' experience in project management, engineering, construction management or project delivery within power infrastructure, utilities, transmission & distribution, substations, renewable energy or major electrical infrastructure.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Energy Engineering or a related technical discipline.
