The company runs a cloud-based platform used extensively across the education sector as schools, students, teachers, and senior leadership all rely on it on a day-to-day basis. As they grow their customer base, they need a Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer to sit between sales and delivery. This would include gathering requirements, writing Statements of Work, onboarding new customers, and making sure projects land on time.

Responsibilities: 

  • Onboard new customers (Gather requirements, understand user scale, and map needs to the platform)
  • Work closely with the sales team and customers to scope engagements and produce Statements of Work 
  • Liaise with education stakeholders at all levels (Students, teachers, and senior leadership)
  • Coordinate project delivery and ensure go-lives happen on time and without gaps 
  • Work with the support team when projects go live and making sure handover is smooth 
  • Develop a working understanding of the platform's infrastructure to give customers accurate, credible answers


Tech Stack

  • Cloud: AWS, GCP, Azure, Digital Ocean
  • Virtualisation: VMware ESXi, Proxmox 
  • Containers & Automation: Docker & Kubernetes, Ansible & Terraform 
  • Monitoring: Grafana & Prometheus, Nagios / Zabbix 
  • Linux 
  • Network: Fortinet Firewalls, Cisco Networking, Load Balancing
  • Not required to fulfill the whole list as breadth and curiosity matter more than depth across every platform.


Required Skills/Qualifications: 

  • Technical all-rounder (Comfortable across cloud, Linux, networking, and infrastructure at a working level)
  • Strong communicator (Able to talk to a Head Teacher and a DevOps engineer in the same afternoon)
  • Pre-sales, solutions engineering, or technical account management background preferred 
  • Experience writing Statements of Work or scoping technical engagements 
  • Organised and delivery-focused (Track what's been promised and make sure it happens )
  • Education sector experience is a bonus, not a requirement 
  • Linux familiarity is desirable

Salary:
