Join an owner-operated, multi-disciplinary German engineering consultancy with around 200 employees across seven international offices, known for driving progress in the construction industry through intelligent, lean engineering and sustainable practices.

The organization is currently on the lookout for a Senior Civil / Utilities Engineer to take full ownership of water, power, and road connectivity scope on live data center projects in the Frankfurt region, from early planning through to handover. The ideal candidate will shape infrastructure strategy, coordinate with utilities and authorities, and manage external interfaces alongside structural, geotechnical, MEP, and project management teams, working across some of the largest data center projects in Germany.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage utilities and civil infrastructure scope on data centre projects: water supply and discharge, high-voltage grid connection and road/site access.
  • Lead early-stage planning, feasibility and concept design for site connectivity, including capacity, routing and constraints
  • Coordinate with utility providers, grid operators, water authorities and municipal bodies to secure connections and approvals
  • Manage the external infrastructure interface with the wider design team (structural, geotechnical, MEP, permitting) and with client and contractor stakeholders
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, tender packages and specifications for external works and utilities
  • Support technical due diligence and site selection on new campus opportunities
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the growth of the civil / infrastructure team


Skills/Must Have:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline
  • 6–8+ years' experience in a planning or design role
  • Track record on utilities and external infrastructure: water, electricity and road connectivity
  • High-voltage grid connection or heavy water infrastructure experience strongly preferred
  • Background in data centres, pharma or other mission-critical / industrial environments is a strong fit
  • Working knowledge of German planning and approvals processes and relevant standards
  • Confident managing utility providers, authorities and multi-disciplinary project teams
  • Professional working proficiency in German and English
