The successful candidate will join the Security Operations team as a Senior Security Analyst, leading complex security investigations, mentoring analysts, and driving improvements across security operations. They will take ownership of high-severity incidents, enhance detection capabilities and operational processes, and collaborate with customers and internal teams to deliver effective security outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead investigations into complex cyber security incidents across network, endpoint, email, identity and cloud environments.
  • Take ownership of high-priority security events, coordinating investigations and response activities through to resolution.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for the SOC, providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior analysts.
  • Perform proactive threat hunting and identify opportunities to improve detection coverage.
  • Develop and refine detection rules, playbooks and response processes to improve operational effectiveness.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Threat Intelligence and Customer Success teams to deliver a coordinated security service.
  • Produce high-quality incident reports and communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across tooling, automation and operational processes.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and help develop the technical capability of the wider team.
  • Stay current with emerging threats, attacker techniques and industry best practice.


Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years' experience in Cyber Security, with significant experience in a Security Operations Centre (SOC) or Incident Response environment.
  • Strong operational instincts and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Hands-on experience across a broad range of cyber security platforms and technologies, including SIEM, EDR/XDR, email security, identity protection and cloud security solutions.
  • Comfortable managing the full incident lifecycle, from initial triage through investigation, containment, eradication, recovery and post-incident review.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to investigations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues in a clear and approachable manner.
  • A collaborative mindset, knowing when to lead, when to support and when to escalate.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching junior analysts.
  • Experience creating or improving detection logic, operational playbooks and SOC processes.


Desirable skills

  • Scripting experience using Python, PowerShell or Bash.
  • Experience using AI-powered tools to enhance investigations, automate workflows or improve analyst efficiency.
  • Experience with threat hunting, detection engineering or purple team activities.
  • Industry certifications such as GCIA, GCIH, GCFA, CISSP, Security+, Azure Security Engineer or equivalent.
  • Experience working within Managed Security Services (MSSP/MDR) environments.
