Responsibilities:
- Perform analysis, installation, configuration, programming, and troubleshooting of networking systems and related equipment while resolving technical issues and supporting system enhancements.
- Coordinate the installation, maintenance, modification, repair, administration, and security of network systems, ensuring compliance with company standards and successful integration with existing infrastructure.
- Provide technical support to internal customers and field technicians, respond to technical enquiries, and deliver training and guidance to personnel as required.
- Conduct preventive security monitoring, identify and resolve system vulnerabilities and performance issues, and perform regular operating system backups to maintain network availability.
Skills/Must Have:
- Current network architectures, technological developments, and industry trends in the relevant area of expertise.
- Knowledge of the policies and objectives of assigned programs and activities.
- Understanding of WAN/LAN networking principles, practices, and methods, including fibre-optic and copper cabling systems, data circuits, routers, switches, hubs, network operating systems, network appliances, firewalls, and security.
- Broad knowledge of computer and networking software, hardware systems, and related technologies.
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining WAN/LAN networking infrastructure and associated hardware and software.
- Knowledge of computer and network infrastructure requirements, standards, security systems, applications, procedures, and techniques.
- Understanding of contract documents and specifications.
- Strong interpersonal skills with tact, patience, and professionalism.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of the Information Technology Department's strategic direction and goals.
