Key Responsibilities

Server Provisioning & Deployment

  • Coordinate and track server and rack provisioning activities, including OS deployment and configuration.
  • Execute large-scale server onboarding and service provisioning in remote environments.
  • Perform remote configuration and infrastructure changes as required.

Monitoring & Troubleshooting

  • Conduct daily monitoring of server infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot hardware alerts, OS-level issues, and basic network problems.
  • Coordinate repair activities and work closely with vendors and field technicians.
  • Diagnose hardware failures and manage part replacements and RMAs.
  • Escalate complex or unresolved issues to senior Server Operations Engineers.

Lifecycle & Asset Management

  • Manage full server lifecycle processes, including commissioning, upgrades, configuration changes, decommissioning, and recycling coordination.
  • Maintain accurate records in asset management, ticketing, and configuration systems.
  • Collect and verify asset data to ensure compliance and reporting accuracy.
  • Submit and track media destruction requests and ensure documentation compliance.

Networking & Systems Support

  • Perform basic server networking configuration and troubleshooting (MAC, Subnet, TCP/IP).
  • Utilise out-of-band management tools for remote diagnostics and recovery.
  • Execute basic Shell/Bash scripts as part of operational tasks.

Operational Excellence

  • Participate in an on-call rotation supporting critical infrastructure.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of operational procedures and documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within server operations.


Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working with Linux systems and diagnosing hardware issues via remote management tools.
  • Strong understanding of server operations, infrastructure interdependencies, and lifecycle management.
  • Working knowledge of out-of-band management tools (e.g., IPMI, NCSI).
  • Solid analytical and troubleshooting skills across hardware, OS, and basic network layers.
  • Foundational networking knowledge (MAC addressing, Subnets, TCP/IP).
  • Ability to read, understand, and execute basic Shell/Bash scripts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in mission-critical environments.
  • Proactive, accountable, and detail-oriented approach.
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within global teams.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with large-scale or remote OS deployments (e.g., PXE boot environments).
  • Familiarity with asset tracking and inventory management systems.
  • Exposure to time and project management frameworks.
  • Scripting or automation knowledge (Python, Bash, or similar).
