The organization operates national and local data centres, delivering flexible, high-speed, and cost-effective solutions to businesses locally and nationally, backed by a 10Gb/s national optical network extending as far as Europe, alongside its own growing regional fibre network across the North East.

The organization is currently on the lookout for two Installation Engineers to join its team, working alongside a mentor five days a week. The ideal candidate will support the installation of network infrastructure, underground telecoms equipment, and high-speed radio networks, along with maintenance work across data centre and network facilities. Attitude and willingness to graft matter more than a polished CV here, with fully funded training including Openreach PIA accreditation, NRSWA certification, and splicing and jointing on offer. Both the Head of Installs and senior leadership started out in this exact role, so there's a genuine route upward for the right person.

Responsibilities:

  • Installation of network infrastructure
  • Assisting with underground telecoms equipment and working at height
  • Installation of high speed radio networks
  • Installation and maintenance projects in data centre and network facilities


Skills/Must Have:

  • Clean UK driving licence, ideally aged 21 or over
  • Clear spoken English and strong communication skills, self motivated
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Willing to work at height and outdoors
  • Some technical grounding such as cabling, IT, networking, fibre or general computer literacy


Desirable Skills:

  • Openreach PIA accreditation, public highway experience, fibre splicing, network testing, structured cabling, duct mapping or survey experience
