The company is looking to bring in a Virtualisation Engineer on a 6-month hybrid contract based in Corsham, providing hands-on engineering support. The ideal candidate will focus on enterprise virtualisation and software-defined infrastructure, supporting full lifecycle delivery from design through build, integration, automation, and operational handover within a secure, regulated environment. Current UK Security Clearance (SC) is required.

Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and manage enterprise virtualisation platforms based on VMware Cloud Foundation, including vSphere, NSX, vSAN, and VCF Operations
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code and API-driven automation for repeatable platform deployments, provisioning, and life cycle management
• Support platform life cycle management including build, upgrade, patching, and scaling
• Integrate virtualisation platforms with enterprise services including networking, DNS, identity, and DevOps toolchains
• Translate architectural designs into automated, deployable solutions aligned to secure-by-design principles
• Produce key artefacts including LLDs, build guides, and runbooks, supporting system integration, testing, change impact assessments, and operational handover

Skills/Must Have:

• Must hold, or be eligible to obtain, UK Security Clearance (SC)
• Strong experience with VMware virtualisation platforms (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter) and VMware Cloud Foundation/SDDC components (NSX, vSAN, VCF Operations)
• Strong automation experience using PowerCLI, Terraform, Ansible, or SaltStack, with Infrastructure as Code and API-driven automation
• Understanding of enterprise networking and underpinning services (DNS, load balancing), with experience integrating platforms into DevOps toolchains and CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of platform security and hardening, with experience delivering in secure or regulated environments - desirable: Kubernetes on VCF, hybrid cloud, GitOps, backup/DR solutions, VCP/VCAP certification

• Location: Hybrid in Corsham
• Contract Length: 6 Month Initial Contract - Inside IR35
• SC required

Salary:

• £600 per day (Inside IR35)
