The growing telecommunications infrastructure contractor is expanding their underground construction crews in Reno, Nevada, and is looking for an experienced HDD Operator to join the team. This is a chance to get hands-on with major fiber network build-outs underway across the western US, working alongside a crew of drillers, locators, and laborers on high-visibility infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:

• Operate horizontal directional drilling (HDD) equipment to install underground fiber/telecom conduit.
• Read and follow bore path plans, working closely with locators to avoid existing utilities.
• Perform routine equipment inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting on the rig.
• Coordinate with drillers, laborers, and site supervisors to keep the crew on schedule.
• Follow all safety protocols and site-specific regulations.

Skills/Must have:

• Proven experience operating HDD / directional drilling equipment.
• Working knowledge of underground utility locating and safe digging practices.
• Comfortable working outdoors in variable weather and terrain.
• Valid driver's license; CDL a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
