This opportunity is for a Senior Benefits Manager to lead the North American benefits function across the US and Canada. The role is responsible for overseeing benefits strategy, managing vendor relationships, shaping plan design, and providing recommendations to senior leadership while supporting a large and complex employee population.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the full lifecycle of US and Canadian Health & Welfare benefit programs including administration, compliance, and communications
  • Act as project manager for annual open enrollment and subsequent plan or rate changes
  • Manage vendor and broker relationships, holding providers accountable to SLAs and driving service excellence
  • Scan the external market to identify legislative changes, competitive trends, and emerging benefits offerings and build the business case for recommendations
  • Ensure compliance with ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, SOX, and applicable Canadian federal and provincial legislation
  • Analyze plan cost, utilization, and performance data to support renewal negotiations and plan design decisions
  • Prepare renewal materials and recommendations for the Benefits Committee
  • Serve as the escalation point for employee benefits and leave queries across North America
  • Partner cross-functionally with HR, Payroll, Finance, and Legal to ensure data integrity across systems
  • Own the benefits administration platform and ensure accuracy across enrollment, eligibility, and payroll integration


Skills / Must Have:

  • 5–7 years of progressive experience administering US Health & Welfare benefit programs
  • Deep working knowledge of ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, and FMLA
  • Strong analytical capability, comfortable building cost models, utilization reports, and executive-level presentations
  • Experience managing vendor and broker relationships directly
  • Workday or equivalent HRIS/benefits administration platform experience
  • Advanced Excel
  • Canadian benefits knowledge is a strong asset
  • CEBS, CCP, or equivalent certification is a plus
  • Self-starter who can operate independently and manage competing priorities
