Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity?

Join a world-leading provider of complex live broadcast facilities and production services, working with content owners, creators, and distributors across sport, media, news, and entertainment. A new company with a 30-year pedigree and around 500 people across the UK, Australia, USA, France, Germany, and Qatar, it is known for flawless execution, deep technical expertise, and a refusal to stand still.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Broadcast IP Infrastructure Engineer to join a skilled engineering team at a specialist broadcast technology business working across live television, outside broadcast, and remote production. The ideal candidate will build, configure, and maintain the IP network infrastructure underpinning live broadcast operations, bringing strong IP networking skills from an ISP or enterprise background, with broadcast-specific knowledge as a smaller bolt-on.

Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity and apply today!

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, upgrade, and optimise OB networking equipment and topologies to support live broadcast and remote production workflows
  • Deploy and maintain control system servers, IT monitoring tools, and visualisation applications across the fleet
  • Support end-to-end IP systems integration including switch fabrics, multicast routing, and PTP timing (ST 2110)
  • Troubleshoot broadcast IT hardware, software, and networking issues across live environments
  • Work with technology leadership and engineering teams to implement infrastructure solutions that meet operational and client objectives
  • Maintain technical documentation, system diagrams, and version control
  • Contribute to internal R&D activities around control, monitoring, and software-defined production workflows
  • Ensure designs and systems align with evolving industry standards and internal policies
  • Arista (primary switching)
  • Cisco / Netgear (secondary)
  • Multicast routing, PIM, IGMP
  • Layer 2 / Layer 3 networking
  • ST 2110 / PTP timing (training provided for the right candidate)
  • Microsoft and Linux server environments
  • IT monitoring and visualisation tools

Skills/Must Have:

  • Strong IP networking background, Layer 2/3, multicast, and dynamic routing protocols are the core requirement
  • ISP, enterprise, or data centre network background, the architecture translates well into broadcast environments
  • Hands-on experience with Arista, Cisco, or comparable enterprise switching platforms
  • An appetite to learn ST 2110 and broadcast IP workflows, curiosity and drive matter more than existing broadcast experience
  • Practical experience building, configuring, testing, and commissioning technical systems end to end
  • Comfortable working in dynamic, time-pressured live environments, broadcast doesn't wait
  • Strong analytical skills, you simplify complex problems and present resilient solutions
  • Team player with the communication skills to work across engineering and production teams

Location & Working Pattern:

  • UK-based role with travel to broadcast and OB locations
  • Scope to participate in R&D, software-defined production and advanced IP media workflows
  • Specialist broadcast technology business with a strong industry reputation

Benefits:

  • Broadcast experience isn’t needed on day one, strong IP engineers are actively welcomed and developed into the broadcast space
  • ST 2110 is the future of broadcast networking, and getting in now builds a rare and increasingly valuable skillset
  • Live broadcast environments are high stakes, fast paced and technically demanding every day
  • R&D involvement, not just ops, with genuine innovation work available
  • Arista-based switching fabric, a marketable platform in both broadcast and enterprise markets
  • A niche specialism that opens doors, as broadcast IP engineers are in short supply globally

Salary:

  • £70,000 – £75,000 base salary
